Ekiden Relay 2011

Just starting a thread up here for anyone to post any queries or request car shares. So far, I know of Lisa Ford and Clare McKenna both requiring a lift from the Dovercourt area if anyone can help out!
Male and female A teams, plus the male vets team were announced several weeks back and remain the same. I will be announcing the 4 inter-club challenge teams by the end of the week (now I have an accurate idea of recent form!), so keep an eye on your in boxes... smile

Re: Ekiden Relay 2011

Any news on the lift front for Lisa and Clare??

Oh, and just a little heads up for the ladies...Richard Flutter was heard to comment last night that in the absence of Anna A this year, he'll be looking for someone else to go all the way with yikes You have been warned!!

Re: Ekiden Relay 2011

I'd like to come over with my pom-poms and ra-ra skirt to support on Sunday but may not have transport depending on what Sue is doing.  Could anyone pick me up from Manningtree on their way to Ipswich.  If there isn't room in the car for the cheerleading outfit I quite understand and I'll leave that behind. ;-)

Hi Bary - I can give you lift.  There is definitely room for your outfit but not your dog!! I can pick you up if you tell me where you are.

Re: Ekiden Relay 2011

Thanks Carla.  If it's easier I could stand by the train station or tell you where on Lawford Dale I am.  What time would I need to be ready for collection?

Re: Ekiden Relay 2011

OK.  I'll see you there.  I'll be outside the building on the corner so pull in to the road and you can turn round in their entrance.  Thanks.

Hope you're not planning on wearing the ra-ra skirt while you're waiting on the corner Barry....you might get picked up long before Curly gets there yikes

Re: Ekiden Relay 2011

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all who turned out today, and to those who stepped in (in one case at the very last minute!) as reserves. I know many of you were still very stiff legged from yesterday's tri!! Congratulations go out to the men's A team for again securing 3rd place, and to Gooding's Goers for their victory in the interclub challenge (Peter G, Trevor, Gary, Mila, Martin and Dennis). Clairely Contenders were the very worthy runners up-Nick, Claire G-M, Ian Cottee, Clare McK, Russ(ty Nuts-blame Karen wink) and Claire B. Thanks also to Richard and Debs for the loan of an additional gazebo, which proved handy on a couple of brief occasions when the heavens opened.
I thought last year's event would be hard to match, but once again the banter at the sidelines was as good as ever (when we weren't busy watching Curly trying to forward roll through the netting!). You all made me forget my grumps at being unable to compete this year, which really takes some doing! big_smile

Oh...and some photos I took today are now up on facebook, for those on there.

Re: Ekiden Relay 2011

Becky, you were awesome.
It must have been a big job to organise it all and especially hard not being able to compete.
All the best for your rehab and we all still love you and want to see you whizzing past us soon.

Re: Ekiden Relay 2011

I would like to echo Miranda's comments...absolutely top job, Becky. Another great day for the club, all stemming from your skill and effort. Great team spirit throughout the event although I'm not too sure what to make of Graeme's attempt to lead Debbie into the bushes...

Perhaps they were looking for Richard...he'd been trying to find someone to go into the woods with him all day wink
