The mind boggles at what you've planned to get them "mean and moody"!

Im thinking maybe the ALL BLACKS pre match haka, could be good to put the opposition off!

May have pschyed jason out already with a last ball win at ten pin bowling last night....although he was in deep discussion with paul about bendy things,so he may have other things on his mind:)smile   (ask jason)

Re: Road relays

Just to warn all of those in the challenge teams...have had to make a substitution due to injury in one of the men's teams, and I've heard a rumour of flu afflicting a couple of other runners. To accommodate this, and keep the challenge workable, I've had to swap some people around a little. I won't publish the new teams right away, in case it has to change again. However, keep an eye on your inboxes from Thursday evening onwards, as I'm hoping to have everything fully confirmed by then.
In the meantime, thank you to all those who stepped in as reserves-much appreciated big_smile

Re: Road relays

A massive thank you and well done to all who turned out, both runners and supporters smile A fantastic club day out, and a great way to celebrate a birthday!

Unfortunately, it all went a bit Pete Tong at the end. Hurried along to the clubhouse so I wouldn't miss the presentations and managed to leave my birthday cake on the bench (had my hands full already, and forgot that Jason had gone on ahead and wasn't there to pick it up for me) sad I don't suppose anyone else took it did they? Bit concerned, as it had Rachel's knife left in it!! Just hope the Thurrock cake thief didn't get his wandering mitts on it wink Thank you all for arranging that for me, and my lovely cards and chorus-it meant a lot.

In the exodus for the clubhouse, I didn't get round to handing out the team challenge prizes either sad I will make some fresh ones for Tuesday, though wink Congratulations to Lou's Rollers (Jo Higgon/Louise Papworth/Rachel Jarvis) on the ladies win, and I think it would be fairest to call a draw between Gooding's Supervets and Dennis and the Gnashers on the mens challenge, as they had some old bird running for them instead of their originally named runner. Prizes for both on Tuesday then, and Flutter gets eff all for the numerous cracks about my age today tongue wink

Anyway, it's been a great day and thank you all once again for making it what it was. Dave Staines was amazed at the amount of teams we had out, and said we're getting a mention in the roadrunning newsletter! And sod it....I can't resist it-has to be done: WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO we won the ladies County Bronze big_smile big_smile big_smile big_smile big_smile big_smile big_smile (just a bit chuffed, can you tell?!)

Re: Road relays

Thanks for those! Came out better than the majority of the photos I took today sad Note to self-familiarise yourself with the settings when borrowing Jason's camera tongue Hope someone else took some snaps today!

Just a couple of points on the results: a few of our runners swapped running positions after the team declarations went in (and one even changed sex yikes ). These were:
Justin Burls running in place of Peter Fraser-Hopewell
Me then running in place of Justin
Russ Mowle and Nick Beales swapped legs
